WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU MIX FLUTE LESSONS WITH A TEACHING ARTIST AND A GROUP OF FUN, MOTIVATED STUDENTS?
THE FRISCO FLUTE STUDIO
A community of musicians who will cheer for you, inspire you and encourage you to be BRAVE.
HERE YOU BELONG
Music making doesn’t happen alone in a practice room (although much of the work happens there!) The MAGIC comes when we share our flute playing with others.
Whether it is during a studio class or recital or experiencing a Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert together, you will connect, be supported and become a member of our TRIBE.
Whether we meet during your band class, in a virtual lesson or in my home studio, you will be a part of a very special group of flutists who know that the key to making music is EACH OTHER.

In addition to being in our tribe, here are more exciting benefits to joining our thriving community!
DISCOUNTED DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TICKETS
As a member of this studio, your family will have the opportunity to attend performances of the DSO at a discounted rate. I work with the DSO to secure the best seats available at the lowest prices so we can experience this great orchestra together. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even get a chance to chat with some of the musicians during intermission!
Each semester, your student will join with others in my studio to practice performing, sight read chamber music and build connection with area flutists.
Spring Semester Recital
Your student will be able to showcase his/her musical growth for family and friends in this relaxed event.
TOP 10 PRACTICE TOOLS FOR FLUTISTS
To help your student learn how to practice, I have created a document with specific tools they can use to make their practice sessions effective, efficient and productive. Additionally, I provide a lesson binder filled with assignment pages, practice logs and refernce materials.
TEACHING DURING COVID
1. I will continue to offer virtual lessons. There are many benefits to studying music online: flexibility, digital resources, simplicity. Virtual lessons are here to stay for those who want them during COVID and after!
2. While the state of Michigan is in Phase 4, I will not offer in person lessons. While I would LOVE to see you (seriously, I miss everyone SO VERY MUCH!), I've decided to continue teaching online during Phase 4. We have had very productive lessons this summer and I am incorporating more digital opportunities such as Sight Reading Factory, Quizlet, Kahoot, YouTube, etc. that keep lessons fun and engaging.
3. When the state of Michigan is in Phase 5... Research is currently being conducted about the safety of in person lessons for flutists. I continue to keep a close eye on best practices from my colleagues around the country as I establish proper safety protocols for our studio. When we have more clarity as a flute community about how to safely resume in person lessons I will communicate that plan to you. At that point, you will have the choice to continue virtual lessons or transition to in person lessons.
4. I will not be teaching in schools. The school districts I teach in are not allowing visitors in the schools this year. I do hope to transition back to teaching during the school day as soon as I am permitted.
I'd love to connect with you to answer your questions about this course or about becoming a member of the Frisco Flute Studio!
